City Extends Shelter-in-Place to April 21

Coronavirus Update

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

Earlier today, the City of Waco and McLennan County announced an extension of their Shelter in Place orders through April 21. The City and County will continue to reevaluate the order for possible extension beyond the current date.

  • As a result of the extension, all University offices will remain closed to the general public through April 21. All building entrances will continue to require card-swipe access only for faculty, staff and students.
  • This order will extend teleworking at the University. However, Baylor remains open – and employees available, regardless of work location – between normal business hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Continue to consult with your supervisor regarding any required on-campus staffing for your office.
  • If managers have questions about extended telework arrangements for employees, they should contact their HR Consultant or consult the FAQs on the University’s COVID-19 website that can help answer specific questions. Helpful telework resources for employees and managers are available at www.baylor.edu/keepworking.
  • Please continue to strengthen your personal health protection, including social distancing practices, and follow the instructions of federal, state and local officials. If you are sick, please stay home and follow CDC guidance for what to do next.

We will continue to share information and updates by email, social media and on our dedicated website at www.baylor.edu/coronavirus.

Sincerely,

Baylor COVID-19 Task Force
